CHO-PAT® TENNIS ELBOW STRAP

From http://www.tru-medical.com/Ort...

  • The Cho-Pat Tennis Elbow Splint is a compression device designed to secure and support forearm muscles that are over-exercised or strained during athletic, leisure, or work activities.
  • The splint has a unique, reinforced tongue comfortably molds to the forearm and fastens with closures. It works by absorbing and dispensing the pain-causing forces relieving stress on the forearm muscles and their attachments and reducing inflammation.
  • It is very effective in giving support to the forearm tendon and muscles during repetitive gripping in activities such as golf, bowling, baseball, tennis or racquetball, gardening or carpentry; activities where one repeatedly extends the arm and then applies force.

Elbow Compression Sleeve During Activities

Elbow Compression Sleeve

If you have elbow pain and or swelling, an elbow compression sleeve may help. An example of a compression sleeve is depicted on the left (Copper Fit Freedom Elbow Compression Sleeve).

Swelling is part of the healing process, but too much swelling can cause more harm than good. Swelling engorges the region with fluid, bringing in more nutrients, but it is important for the excess fluid (which also contains the toxic waste products of healing) away. If the fluid stays too long, it can lead to too much painful inflammation and impair healing.

Movement encourages the "wringing out" of this excess fluid. Wearing a compression sleeve during physical activities keeps the swelling down (minimizing inflammation), provides protection, keeps the joint warm and supported. Talk to your chiropractor to see if wearing a compression sleeve is appropriate for your elbow pain.

Wearing a WRIST BRACE WHILE SLEEPING MAY HELP WITH ELBOW PAIN

Do you sleep with your hands curled up in a bent position? Did you know this can cause a compressional force in your elbows, which could be the root cause of your elbow pain? If you sleep with your wrists bent, try wearing a carpal tunnel wrist brace to hold your wrists at neutral while you sleep. You may not have carpal tunnel, but a carpal tunnel brace may help your elbow! Something to talk to your healthcare provider (hopefully one of our chiropractors here at Drummond Chiropractic).

We get to the root cause of your elbow pain. It may be coming from your wrist position at night, pinched nerves in your neck, and more.

You don't have to be in pain. Why wait?
