Chiropractors are to athletes as cardiologists are to those who suffer from cardiovascular disease. Athletes who receive treatment from a medical doctor find themselves frequently benched and on the sidelines. Others play and then spend hours after the game icing their injuries and taking pain medication. This is because medical doctors do not treat the body as an integrated system, but rather treat each injury individually. Meanwhile, chiropractic treatment offers a balanced, holistic approach, by using spinal adjustments and physical therapy techniques to help the patient’s muscles, tendons, and ligaments return to their normal function.
Your sport or hobby does NOT have to cause you pain.
Chiropractic care meticulously tends to the needs of the athlete because special attention is given to the spine, joints, muscles, tendons, and nerves. Additionally, chiropractic care ensures that all pieces of the musculoskeletal system are working harmoniously in their healthiest, most natural state.
Professional athletes recognize tremendous value in chiropractic care because they realize that it helps them maximize athletic performance. Whether you’re an athlete or weekend warrior, receiving chiropractic care will enable you to reach an optimum level of achievement without breaking yourself.
Young Athletes benefit from chiropractic too!
This includes the young athlete. Our doctors can examine the young athlete and address imbalances now, to minimize risk of injury later. We are part of the CPOYA program (Concerned Parents of Young Athletes). To learn more, check out: cpoya.com
More about Dr. McCoy,
our sports chiropractic specialists
On a personal note, Dr. Michael McCoy was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky and graduated with a Doctorate of Chiropractic and Master’s degree from Logan University.
His passion for chiropractic started when he was in high school and suffered a sports injury. He went to a couple doctors and specialists before seeing a chiropractor. His chiropractor ended up being the only one who could get him out of pain and back on the field. Ever since that moment he wanted to make that impact in young athletes, weekend warriors, and families alike. One of his favorite moments as a chiropractor was when he was told by a young athlete that after getting well with his care, after all others failed, he too decided to become a chiropractor. He loves that he can have a huge influence in his patients lives by helping them become pain free and have a more active lifestyle. His vision for treatment is to reduce your pain, improve your function, and to reach your personal goals in as few visits as possible.
